Radha Subramanyam is President of Insights, Research and Data Analytics for iHeartMedia, which has the largest reach of any radio or television outlet in America. Having spent the last decade as a top market research and consumer insights expert, she is one of a select group of media and entertainment executives with extensive experience in all areas of the industry – television, digital, radio, and social media.
Subramanyam plays a vital role in iHeartMedia’s vast array of operations, which encompasses radio broadcasting, online, mobile, digital and social media, live concerts and events, syndication, and independent media representation. Her responsibilities include developing and managing an expansive range of data and research efforts involving digital analytics, ratings and measurement, ad sales research, mobile measurement, programming analysis, music research, campaign measurement/attribution and marketing research.
Subramanyam‘s tenure at iHeartMedia began in 2012, when she was named to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Research. In 2014, she was promoted to the role of President. Subramanyam previously served in senior executive roles at Yahoo! and MTV Networks and was one of the founding leaders of a new analytics and consulting practice at Nielsen that advises media and advertising clients on shifts in media consumption. At Nielsen, Subramanyam also headed the social media practice and served on the leadership team of NMIncite, the Nielsen-McKinsey joint venture.
In 2013 and 2014, Radio Ink named Subramanyam as one of the Most Influential Women in Radio and featured her on the cover of their 2013 November issue. In 2011, she was honored as one of the Most Powerful and Influential Women in the Tri-State area by the National Diversity Council. Subramanyam is also the recipient of the Women with Solutions award, from the Alliance for Women in Media, for her leadership in increasing awareness and access to science, technology, engineering, and math to young women.
Subramanyam began her media career at NBCUniversal after having previously taught media and entertainment courses at Vassar College and New York University. She currently lives in New York City with her husband and children and holds a Ph.D. in Radio, Television and Film from Northwestern University.
